Fredonia History Days — July 12 & 13, 2019

FREDONIA HISTORY DAYS – YESTERDAYS OF FREDONIA

Turn an eye toward yesteryear on July 12 & 13 as the Village of Fredonia turns back the clock to celebrate the past with a variety of events for the annual Fredonia History Days – Yesterdays of Fredonia.

The 2-day celebration kicks off Friday (July 12) with a classic car and motorcycle show, live music and food in Barker Common West and a BBQ Chicken or Pulled Pork Dinner provided JJ’s Backyard BBQ. Tickets are $10 each, and can be purchased at Til You Drop Shoppe or HBKS Wealth Advisors. The festivities continue Saturday (July 13) beginning with the regular Fredonia Farmers’ Market on Church Street at 9 a.m.  A wide variety of vendors and merchants will set up in Barker Common East and West, and there will be LOTS of historically-themed kid’s activities on Church Street between Temple and Park Streets!

We will be showcasing many different organizations/interests throughout the day!

Some of the featured parties will be:

Fredonia Memorial Post 59 American Legion
Fredonia Grange No. 1
Chautauqua Genealogical Society
Fenton History Center
Jamestown Trolley Restoration Project
Sherman Historical Society
Sheridan Historical Society & Museum
Chautauqua County Historical Society
Vets Finding Vets Program

There will also be a Basket Raffle & 50/50 fundraiser over the two-day festival.   Part of the proceeds will benefit Festivals Fredonia’s annual “Community Give Back” donation made during the Miracle on Main Street and village tree-lighting event in December. The 2019 recipient is Fredonia Memorial Post 59 American Legion, celebrating 100 years nationally and the first post in Chautauqua County!
