The spirits of Forest Hill Cemetery are back and ready to educate, entertain, and spook the living members of Fredonia’s community. The Forest Hill Cemetery, one of the most beautiful cemeteries in Western New York, will once again host the Harvest Moon Cemetery Tours. On October 18 & 19, Festivals Fredonia will be hosting the event with horse drawn carriage tours through the cemetery every half hour. Under a devilish new management team, familiar spirits, ghosts, and apparitions of Forest Hill Cemetery have been summoned into an exciting new frenzy, but be warned: not all of the spirits roaming the cemetery grounds are friendly… Come hear the tales of the founding families, local heroes & some of the most notorious villains from around the area all told by knowledgeable guides. Spirits will be high as the dearly departed buried within the cemetery grounds rise to the occasion to share stories of their noteworthy pasts firsthand.
This tour event now features special lighting and make up effects, fog, and live low-impact scare actors. The carriage will not be touched, but because of the spooky nature of the attraction it is not recommended for children under 10 years of age. The tours will run every half hour from 7 pm to 10 pm. Advance sale tickets required. Tickets are $12.50, and there are discounts for groups of 14 or more. Note that tours will run rain or “shine” and tickets are non-refundable. To purchase tickets, scroll to the bottom and click on the time you want to purchase your ticket. You will be emailed a receipt for your ticket purchase. Please print out this receipt and bring with you the night of your tour. This receipt will be your tickets for admission to your scheduled tour. Each year the trolley tours sell out – don’t be left standing in the cold – don’t forget to get your tickets early! Ticketed attendees can meet at the Gazebo in West Barker Commons on Church St. in Downtown Fredonia. The trolleys will load passengers at the Gazebo & return to the same area. Please plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time to check in. Tours will last approximately 45 min to an hour. This is an outdoor event, so please dress for the weather! Refreshments will be available for purchase in the park.
We are currently seeking volunteers for both nights of the 2019 production. If you are interested please contact Event Co-Chair Mandi Shepp at 716-672-9278 or email@example.com by September 10. Volunteers for non-speaking roles will be accepted until September 20.
Tour is appropriate for ages 8 and up.
